Mark Zuckerberg bio je inspiracija za višestruko nagrađivani film Društvena mreža ali i pored uspeha ovog ostvarenja osnivač Facebooka nije nimalo oduševljen načinom na koji je prikazan njegov život.

„Mnogo toga u tom filmu je bilo prilično bolno za mene. Po njima sam ja došao na ideju da napravim društvenu mrežu samo kako bih privukao devojke. U stvarnosti je to bilo potpuno drugačije. Da su hteli da snime film po istinitom događaju samo biste gledali mene kako satima napo**o radim na kodiranju i programiranju“, podelio je svoje negativno viđenje 30-godišnji milijarder, ali je, ipak, dodao i da je piće koje njegov lik pije u filmu postalo popularno u kancelarijama Facebooka iako za njega pre filma nije ni čuo.

Odgovarajući na brojna pitanja korisnika društvene mreže čiji je tvorac objasnio je i zbog čega je bilo nužno da se napravi posebna aplikacija za slanje poruka kojom su mnogi nezadovoljni zbog memorije koju zauzima na njihovim telefonima.

„Obećavam da neće biti dodatnih izmena, ali morali smo da izdvojimo tu aplikaciju jer je ogromna količina poruka ometala rad mreže. A kada postoji posebna aplikacija za nešto onda taj aspekt radi besprekorno.“
