„Moja prva trudnoća proticala je prilično glatko. Kako se približavao termin porođaja, postajala sam ipak pomalo uznemirena i nervozna jer nisam znala šta me očekuje u porođajnoj sali.

Prirodno, želela sam da prikupim što više informacija i da se na neki način pripremim, pa sam često ispitivala žene iz svog okruženja koje su prošle kroz to iskustvo o različitim detaljima vezanim za porođaj.

Naravno, plašila sam se i bola. Često sam dobijala odgovor “Ne brini ništa, sve bolove zaboraviš čim ugledaš svoju bebu”. Pravila sam se, naravno, da me je to smirilo i utešilo, ali zapravo uopšte nisam bila ni smirena ni utešena. Taj odgovor me je ustvari najviše zbunjivao. Jer, ja sam se plašila bola u trenutku porođaja, a ne toga da ću ga zauvek pamtiti“
